The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the armed forces of India. The candidates will be called for Service Selection board interviews according to their cadre and their performance in BE/BTECH Degree. Stage -1: Test consisting of officer intelligence rating test (OI and R test) followed by Picture perfection and Discussion test. Stage-2: Psychological testing, Group task, Group discussion and personal interview. Candidate who clears all the above tests will be appointed for training. The selected candidates will be appointed in the rank of Sub- Lieutenant on the date decided by IHQ-MoD (Navy). The candidates will be granted Short Service Commission (SSC). The candidates will be subject to an initial probationary period which will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub-Lieutenant and will terminate after two years from the date of their reporting to the Indian Naval Academy. During the period from date of appointment to reporting for training, the individual will be entitled to half the basic pay of the rank, which will be payable as a lump-sum stipend at the time of joining Indian Naval Academy for training. The tenure of SSC officers will be for a period of 10 years, extendable by a further period of 04 years subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidates. The Candidates who fail to qualify at the final graduation (aggregate 60%) will be discharged from service without any benefits. Duties of Technical Officer Tech (GS) Branch: Technical officers are to maintain ships, aircrafts and their associated weapons/sensors systems. Submarine cadre: As a submarine technical officer you will be responsible to run maintain modern submarines and its weapon systems. Naval Architecture cadre: Naval Architects specialize in warship and submarine constructions and also involves in design, construction, quality control and new construction work of naval vessels.
