Software Job


NASSCOM survey finds booming job market in India. It said the Indian information technology (IT) and business process outsourcing (BPO) industry would hire 150,000 people this year.
Computer science or computing science is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation, and of practical techniques for their implementation and application in computer systems. It is frequently described as the systematic study of algorithmic processes that create, describe, and transform information.

Areas of computer science: 
The theory of computation, algorithms and data structures, programming methodology and languages, and computer elements and architecture are the areas considered crucial for the discipline of computer science. In addition to these four areas, some fields such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, computer networking and communication, database systems, parallel computation, distributed computation, computer-human interaction, computer graphics, operating systems, and numerical and symbolic computation as being important areas of computer science.
NASSCOM survey finds booming job market in India. For the next financial year, 2010-11, Nasscom gave healthier projections for exports at 13-15 percent and 15-17 percent for the India market. It said the Indian information technology (IT) and business process outsourcing (BPO) industry would hire 150,000 people this year. The findings of the association said that the industry would continue to be a net hirer with direct employment expected to grow by 4 percent and cross 2.3 million with over 90,000 jobs added in FY09-10. The 'Global Snapshot' from the international recruitment firm, Antal surveyed more than 6000 organisations in 30 countries on whether they were currently hiring and firing at professional and managerial level. The survey showed that Indian organizations plan on increasing their hiring activity even more, which indicates a strong employment market which is improving all the time.

India favorite destination: 
India is the hub of skilled software professionals, who are available in abundance. It helps the software companies to develop cost-effective business solutions for their clients. As a result, Indian software companies can place their products and services in the global market in the most competitive rate. This is the reason why India has been a favorite destination for outsourcing as well. Many multinational IT giants also have their offshore development centers in India. Most of the software companies in India are into varied types of business like
  • Infrastructure Software: These include Operating Systems, middleware and databases.
  • Enterprise Software: These automate business process in diverse verticals like finance, sales and marketing, production and logistics.

Pay: 
The pay in software companies is very good as compared to other industries. Salary package is calculated based on the Total Relevant Experience in most of the companies. In technologies, that are short of resources like higher end computing etc the salary packages match that of many developed countries. As a thumb rule, the salary will be around 1.5 lakh x experience in many companies.
