Chetan Bhagat's two states being shot at IIM-A

First time ever in history, IIM-A (Indian institute of Management – Ahmadabad) has offered its campus for a Bollywood film shoot. The institute has lent its campus to Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions 300 member film unit for shooting “2 States” – a film based on IIM-A alumni Chetan Bhagat’s book.
2 States is a book about Chetan Bhagat as well his wife. The story revolves around how a boy from Punjab and a girl from Tamil Nadu convince their parents to agree to their love marriage.
The lead actors of the movie – Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor were present in the campus to shoot the first scene of the movie at the IIM-A student’s mess on Monday, April 15.
The second scene will be shot today Tuesday, April 16 in one of the IIM-A classrooms. The entire unit will be present in IIM-A till April 23 for shooting.
Sources from the IIM-A campus revealed that was not difficult for the production house to secure permission for shooting inside the IIM-A campus since Chetan Bhagat is an IIM-A alumni and his book refers a lot of times to the IIM-A campus. Also, since most of the students are currently on vacation/pursuing internship projects; the campus is almost empty except the cafeteria and canteen areas.
The movie ‘3 idiots’ was also filmed at IIM Bangalore in the year 2009. Though the actors of 3 Idiots stayed at the hostel of the IIM-B campus itself, the actors of 2 States are currently staying in a hotel.
Chetan Bhagat was also present at the first day of shooting and tweeted – "At the IIMA student mess. Shot being composed. Unable to describe the feeling. Time travel of sorts."
